Why don’t people trust your website?
Why do people believe or disbelieve your website? It’s all about the content, the design choice and the experience of the website. But why does he seem unreliable?
EASYWEB.bg is constantly confronted with this great topic. Very often we are contacted by owners of various businesses with an already built website and asked – Why do we have thousands of visits and not a single sale? Why are so few people looking for and choosing our services?
Undoubtedly, there are many reasons why a site is unreliable. So be sure to leave a comment below if we missed a reason. Let’s start:
1. Too much information
Is there too much information to process? Is it too difficult to find what you are looking for? Are your main messages and calls for action inconspicuous in any way? A website with too much information can cause visitors’ brains to overheat. This makes their choice almost impossible.
Act simply and clearly! Put an Action button after each call to users.
2. Outdated
Does your website look like it was designed in 2004 or before? Do you still need Flash to access? Is Web 2.0 still a good idea? Is it the first blog post on your site years ago?
Professional web design for your company website is one of the most important things. Let your visitors experience a real experience after visiting the site. Remember to create content at least once a week.
3. Bad content
Clear, compelling posts and attention to detail are needed to make the right impression. You have a few seconds to do it. The smart thing would be to hire a professional copywriter and undertake a content audit.
4. Bad appearance and feeling
It’s a bit subjective, but aside from the design, your website should certainly look the way you want it, in all browsers and on all devices. That’s why it’s important to have 3 separate versions of your site: for computers (desktop and laptop), tablet and smart phones. Remember that a bad look of your site leads to an automatic bounce rate by users.
5. Too much blinking
Flashing ads are annoying, as are animated icons and gifs. Anything that looks like a banner ad will be ignored by most visitors. AdBlocker also detects flashing ads and blocks them. Choose clean and clear advertising banners. This will increase the chance of users clicking on it.
6. Non-standard advertising formats
There are certain expectations among consumers in terms of formats and best practices. Anything schematic or super intrusive will trigger alarm bells. The ad should NOT obscure the content and should be able to be closed easily if the customer does not like it.
7. Inappropriate fonts
Times New Roman and Comic Sans are usually signs that you are not trying hard enough. Guess you don’t want this to be one of your bad business traits? Incorrectly selected fonts will make it difficult for the user to read the text.
Choose carefully what fonts to use! It is advisable not to mix more than 2 different fonts. This is extremely important so that the user can easily read the text on the website.
9. Fraudulent content
The title of a page is a kind of promise. Visitors do not want to be deceived or taken on a garden path just to find out that fairies do not exist. Make sure the title and the way you get your customers to enter the site match the content on it.
10. Random quotes from fake people
A good recommendation contains three things: a specific detail, a person / name you know, and some positive support. Unfortunately, many recommendations are completely fabricated and false. Visitors are not dumb and easily catch schemes such as fake 5 star reviews.
There are many other reasons that would cause a user not to vote confidence in your site. That’s why we keep the topic open and expect a sequel very soon.
